How Does It Work?

CitynetConferencing.com provides a conferencing service that is reliable and simple to use. You can quickly and easily create a conference that can be used once, or over and over again. When you create a conference, you will be given a number to call for the conference, a conference number to enter once you call in, and an optional PIN number (available on the premium service). Simply distribute this information to everyone you want to participate in the call, and they will be able to call in to join in your conference. Conferences have crystal clear quality and allow you to easily communicate with groups of co-workers, customers, or friends.

CitynetConferencing.com works from anywhere! You can call into a conference from any type of phone and from any phone service provider. The conference will work from traditional residential telephone lines, all types of business lines (PRIs, integrated circuits, etc.), from IP phones, and from cellular phones.

How Do I Setup a Conference?
From CitynetConferencing.com’s home page, select either the FREE Conferencing option, or the Premium Conferencing Option and fill out the appropriate information. For FREE calls, all you need to create your call is just an email address. For Premium, you’ll need to provide billing information and a password for your account. Fill in the information and click “Create Conference” at the bottom of the form. As soon as you submit the request, you will be provided with the important information for the setup of your call. This information includes:
  • Call In Number – the number you call on your phone to join the conference. For the FREE service, this will be a local Citynet number (long distance charges may apply). If you are using the Premium service, this will be a toll free 800 number.
  • Conference Number – the conference bridge number needed to join the conference call.
This information will be displayed on the screen in your browser, and an email will be sent with the information to the email address provided.

How Do I Join a Conference?
When you setup the conference from CitynetConferencing.com, you will be provided a conference call in number and a conference bridge number (and an optional PIN number with the premium service). To join the conference, all you need to do is dial the conference call in number from any phone, and, when prompted, enter the conference bridge number. If you requested a PIN, you will be prompted for the PIN number after you enter the conference bridge number. Once the bridge number has been accepted (and PIN entered if setup), you will be automatically entered into the conference call. To terminate the call, simply hang up your phone.

How Long is a Conference Valid?
Once setup, a conference will remain valid indefinitely. You can use the conference bridge as many times as you would like without any additional setup. If you would like to set a conference as inactive, you may do so by logging into your account at CitynetConferencing.com at any time, clicking on “Conferences”, going to the options for that call, and change the status to inactive. You can activate and deactivate conferences as often as needed from within the account manager at CitynetConferencing.com.

What is My Account?
When you create your first conference at CitynetConferencing.com, an account is automatically setup for you. You will receive an email letting you know the account has been created and listing your account password. For Premium subscribers, you will choose your password when you first setup your account. FREE subscribers will be auto assigned a password. From within “My Account”, you can change your password at any time. Once logged into your account, you can create additional conference calls, view all conference calls, update your billing information (if subscribed to Premium Services), and utilize all of the advanced features available through the Premium Service.

What is the difference between the FREE and Premium Services?
Both services allow you to create a conference call with unlimited participants that can be used any number of times. The actual service itself does not change between the options. The FREE service provides local Citynet numbers (long distance charges from your long distance provider may apply), but does not provide access to the advanced features of the Premium Service. The Premium Service provides toll free 800 numbers to call into for the conference, a web view showing who is on the call with the ability to mute or drop participants, the ability to lock / unlock a conference, the ability to have the system call participants (instead of the participants calling the system), and many more features. For a full list of the features available through the Premium Service, see the "Premium Conference Calling" page.
